Need help locating Alexander LaVake's birth records. He was born in either October or March of 1859 and died in 1939. Immigrated to Michigan from Quebec in 1882-83.

Married Donalda Dault (Deault, Daoust, Deaux) in Newberry, Michigan 12 May 1884. She was b. 1869 in Ontario d. 1933 in Wausau, WI. She immigrated from Ontario in either 1880 or 1882 according to census records, I haven't found any supporting documents for either of them.

Ancestry has his parents as Augustine Leveque (1812–) and Henriette Chamberland (1827–). Family search has his parents as Ignace Levesque (96XJ-8Y6) and Marie Sophie Mignault dit Labrie (KCJL-L5W)

There is another Alexander that was also born in Quebec in March of 1859. The 1911 Canada Census has his name spelled Alexandre Lévesque living in Kamouraska, Quebec, and married to a Germaine St Pierre.

He is not the son of Augustine Levesque and Henriette Chamberlain. That Alex was born 1 mar 1859 in St. Pacome, Kamouraska, but he and Germaine St. Pierre remained in Quebec and had children who married there. Your birth date may not be correct. I will look further. Haven't found the marriage to Donalda but am anxious to see what that says about his parents, if anything. Don't get hung up on spellings because people are doing the best they can with phonetical spellings.

Alexandre Levesque b 8 oct 1858, baptized 9 oct 1858 in St Octave de Metis, Matane, Quebec (up above Quebec, by Rimouski etc) may be your person. His parents are Ignace Levesque and Sophie Migneau (as shown in FamilySearch. He appears to have left Canada by 1901, so could be your guy. I couldn't find the marriage in Michigan, although I saw (undocumented) references to it. Be careful because there is a Donalda Dault in Ontario who married Louis Trottier (not the same).

More on Donalda. Her obituary states she was born 1 jan 1869 in Canada. A Donalda Deaux (variation of Dault et al) was born 31 dec 1868, baptized 3 jan 1869, in Lafontaine, Ontario, daughter of Nazaire Deaux/Dault and Cleophee Andre. Be aware there is another Donalda Dault born in 1866 to Toussaint Dault and Zoe Andre who married Louis Trottier in 1882 in Simcoe. Opportunities for confusion because of similar location and parents names.

Awesome! Thank you. I have their oldest daughter Della born July 1888 in Michigan and their oldest son Henry born in 1891 in Michigan. I haven't found any immigration papers for either of them, and I'm not sure where they entered at, and they didn't come together from what I gather. And Alex was naturalized by 1900 according to the census.

I've tried reaching out to Luce County in Michigan, but never got a response from a few emails I've sent trying to confirm or deny.

I will take note of the similar people so that I keep them separate!
