Grandfather lost at sea

My grandfather, Joseph Hounslea (LBQQ-RWG), was born in 1900 however, I do not have a date of death as he was lost at sea. I was told he sailed for Cunard-White Star out of Liverpool, Merseyside, and he was lost sometime after 1955 off the coast of New Zealand.

How would I find records of his demise?

    @EstherHenningsen

    In FindMyPast at https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=BMD%2FD%2FMARITIME%2F583144, Deaths At Sea 1891-1972, I found a death record for Joseph Hounslea born 1900 in Liverpool, for a 13 December 1959 death date, on the ship Rippingham Grange (I Googled Rippingham Grange and found it made a voyage to New Zealand in 1958). I think this is your guy.

    Good Hunting,
