I am pretty sure this is a marriage record to Matej Legner and Dorota Rozene? Stepanova I have Katerina Benescova as mother to Matej , but don't see his fathers name. I thought it was Joseph. I am also confused about Jan Benes. Is this Katerina's father?? The name Waclav is also in the record is he a son? Thank you for any help..

I think you will find this article extremely helpful. I have also included the index of records for this parish and circled the types of records found in the records. So you can tell which type of records to choose.

Betseylee thanks you so much for helping. As you can tell I am a rookie at church records, but am learning as I go. I have already looked through every book but now I will have a better idea of what I am looking at. The records have been confusing because even like this record, Matej is spelled differently and there is even a Matig Lehner which I actually think might be Lekner because for years in the records Legner was spelled Lekner. Do you think this is a spelling mistake or an actual change?? Thanks again for all your help..

They always come up with different spellings.

@ScottGunner Most of the time, it is best to "ask a question" - do this by selecting the arrow to the right of "new discussion". Asking a question allows you to accept the answer or let us know you would like more help. I was able to change this post to a question for you.
Thanks for being patient as we sometimes must wait for a response to come from a volunteer with the needed skill set. It is always good if you include the identification number of the persons in question in Family Search Family Tree so we can see the bigger picture.
Enjoy today - best wishes as you continue searching for your family members! Cindy
PS - I will mark my response as a rejected answer because it only gives you some tips, not an answer to your question - then this will continue showing as an unanswered question and it should get more attention that way.
