Thank you so much for helping me out Anna. I am kind of confused about why Jan is on the record. He is the son of Matej and Dorata, but why would he be on the baptism of Joseph's and Anna's son Stephan? Is it because Joseph and Jan were brothers?

You are welcome, Scott. This is a birth record, here Jan is the main person. Then come the father and the mother. In fact, the column with the 3 signatures, after Kopa n°3 are the child'ds gofather and two godmothers.
Josef Legner is the son of Matej and Dorota, and he had a child with Anna, this child is Jan, there is no Stephan mentioned here. Jan's parents were not married at the moment of his birth, July 9, but his father, Josef Legner, declared him as his son and promised officially to marry his mother, Anna.
Unfortunately, Jan died one and a half months later.
I hope I have made it a bit clearer, don't hesitate if you have any further questions.
