Contributing person as DECEASED born within last 110 years without SOURCE or REASONS
Recently I have run across 2 close family relatives that are still living who a contributor entered as deceased. One is 84 years old and the other is 70. This is actually the 3rd living family member I have discovered entered in this way. I'm sure the contributors meant no harm and are just enthusiastic about Family Search. But this is a simple mistake that creates a great deal of hands-on work by helpers in Salt Lake to correct. It seems just too easy to assume a person is deceased and entering that record without providing some reason or a source to verify why that person is being entered as dead.
Does anyone else feel that should you want to create a new person in Family Search that was born within the past 110 years, that a reason or source be REQUIRED before making that entry as a deceased person? A source such as A copy of a death certificate, funeral program, obituary, or adding a memory of that person, or even just a reason such as "I attended the funeral" or "my cousin called me" would be sufficient. That would mitigate this issue and could help the church better use their Family Search resources.
I'd like to get a number of members to suggest this to Family Search. One suggestion may have little influence but if several of us are running across the same issue perhaps Family Search would consider this revision. Thanks!

Belatedly ...
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
FYI
Since the MOVE to this NEW Platform of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, unfortunately, the activity in some of the 'Groups', in the Forum, has waned considerably.
Again, unfortunately, although, I am a "Group Leader", I DO NOT have the ability to "Move" (as, I would like to), this post of yours, in this 'Group', to a more appropriate Section, in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum; which, I suggest would be, either, (or, BOTH), the (1) "Q and A" (ie. 'Category' = "Family Tree") Section; and/or, the (2) "Ideas" (ie. 'Topic' = "Family Tree") Section, of this Forum.
As such ...
Can I humbly suggest that, you consider REPOSTING, this "Discussion" of yours in this 'Group", in either, (or, BOTH), the (1) "Q and A" (ie. 'Category' = "Family Tree") Section; and/or, the (2) "Ideas" (ie. 'Topic' = "Family Tree") Section, of this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

I think that with the waning of this 'Group', you would be much better off served, REPORSTING in the aforementioned.
I am so very sorry, that I cannot be of any real help/assistance.
And, I apologise for the belated response, here, in this 'Group'.
Good Luck.
