New Message to Recent Contact fails to send
I have been trying the NEW MESSAGE button in messaging. I type in the name of a recent contact and it populates correctly in the TO box. I then compose the message and send.
I get an error message every time that the message could not be sent.
I have tried this with a number of different contacts and the result is always the same.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or is there a workaround?

I experienced this as well on the morning of May 2. However, by that afternoon it worked.

Thank you for the question. Do you have any information about Christopher Edward Finn? Like a person number from Family Tree. Or birth date, place and the like?

I am continuing to have this issue. This morning, I was able to use the NEW MESSAGE button to send a one-sentence message to a frequent contact in my list. I then tried to send him another message and it failed. I am using Chrome and cleared my history and cookies, closed my browser and restarted. Tried to send the message again several times. It failed every time. I finally had to find a prior message to him and send it as a response to that topic, even though it was a different topic.
Very frustrating!

Still having problems with this issue. Occasionally, I am able to send a short message. More often than not, messages fail to send.

Did you ever get this resolved (or at least some response from someone at FS of some bug etc.)???
If it still occurs I wonder - do you get the same problem - if you DONT copy and paste from WORD
(and merely type it in from scratch)
are you including things like formatting and images in what you are copying and pasting into the FS message window? (which could be part of problem)
also when I send a message to someone - I Prefer going to their profile page - and clicking the SEND from their - thus I dont have to do a name lookup.

No resolution. The messages that don't send are following the steps:
Type in a user name of a recent contact.
Select the username from the list.
Type in a message. (Just straight text, no images or attachments).
Click SEND.
It still happens more than 50% of the time to me, which is why I am now composing outside the FS Messaging system.
The only way to send is to find a previous message I sent to them and reply to it, which is not a good solution as often the subject is completely different.
And, YES, I clear my cache, history, and cookies every time I close my browser. Using the current build of Chrome on an i7 computer and Xfinity high-speed internet.

Note: - finding a previous message - works - BUT you dont need to REPLY to the message
you can simply (from there) go to the profile of the user and send the message from the profile page- which allows you to not have to type in the recipient name.
I realize the way you are doing it SHOULD work - but I also wonder if doing it from the profile page - somehow gets around the issue - and thus is a clue as to what is causing the problem.
give it a try and let me know if you have the same problem when sending messsage from the PROFILE page of the user.
