Church Records for Gonzaga
Hello,
I've recently started trying to research my Italian heritage and the furthest I've got is to Antonio Marcheselli (1822 - 1904). I've found his death record in Castelnovo Bariano, Rovigo, Veneto (which I've attached). It lists his parents (Luigi Marcheselli and Santa Vecchia) and it looks like Antonio lived in Ostiglia, Mantua, Lombardy and was born in Gonzaga, Mantua, Lombardy.
I've been trying to find records for his parents, or perhaps any siblings Antonio may have had, I've looked all through the civil records available on antenati but I've come up with nothing. I'm thinking my next step ought to be having a look through some church records so my question, if anyone is able to assist me, is: where can I find out what church might contain these records?
I'm guessing he would have been baptised in Gonzaga or even better his parents might have been married there but it's not that clear to me what church or parish that falls under (and I guess there could be several?).
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

No church records online for that location. Civil records ended in 1815 and resumed in 1871; if he had siblings who were married after 1871 the marriage allegati might provide the name of the specific church their family belonged to.
Currently it appears Gonzaga has three churches. You can search them up at the Diocese of Mantova website.
