Help researching a family

Hi, I have been researching an ancestral line from Denmark of Ane Marie Christensdatter, KHFC-XB1, She was born in 1787 in St. Olai, Hjørring. Her parents are I believe Christen Pedersen and Else Laursdatter of Wellingshøy, and were married on 5 Nov 1782 and are in the 1787 and 1801 census. The problem I have is their approximate birth years would have been in the 1740's and apparently the church book for 1727-1752 is missing. I checked the confirmation records in the early 1750's but did not find any. Does anyone have any recommendations on how else to find information for these individuals' families? I have considered that there may be probates, but am not sure which probate records to look in. Does anyone have any idea where I would look for probates in Wellingshøy?

Also if someone could help me translate the full birth records for their children, I am wondering if any of that information may be helpful in finding their families.

In looking at this family on the Family Tree, it's a good idea to see if you can find a probate for either Christen or Else. The responsibility to do probates fell upon the estate owners. You look for a probate in the estate archive collection according to the place of residence of the ancestor. There were 8 estates that owned land in Sankt Olai parish. We don't know which estate Vellinghøj belonged to so you need to check all of them. Here are some suggestions:

1. You can search the Denmark, Probate Indexes, 1674 - 1851 database on FamilySearch to see if either Christen Pedersen or Else Larsdatter have an estate inventory in it, see https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2026233. The database is not comprehensive for all estates, in all counties but it's worth trying. 3. To your other questions, I looked over the entries that you provided with links. I noticed that 5 November, 1782 had been cited as the marriage date. It is not. The word Trolovet (engaged) is written right above the word Unge Karl (bachelor). The other entries show the word Ægteviede (married) at the end of each entry but the pastor forgot to go back and add it to the entry of Christen and Else. So 5 November is the engagement day. I looked at the birth entries and did not see any obvious relatives listed among the godparents/witnesses. Are you still interested to find out the names and places of the godparents?

As another suggestion, without earlier censuses you need to search the parish books for family members according to the events that got recorded in their life cycle to construct the family. You might also try Fæsteprotokoller (contracts to live and run a farm) to see https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Denmark_Land_and_Property for additional clues on the birthplace of the farmer.
