Ward Temple and Family History Consultants and the Stake Family History Center.
Question 1: Where there are a number of Temple and Family History Consultants in a Ward, and there is a Ward Temple and Family History Leader, and some of those Ward consultants are then assigned to work in the Stake Family History Center, do those assigned Ward consultants continue to attend the Ward Consultants Coordination meeting with the other Ward Consultants and work in the Ward to coordinate individual family history work with Ward members, as well as work in the Family History Center, or do they discontinue attending the Ward consultant coordination meetings and focus their work on the assignment in the Family History Center?
Question 2: In the above situation, does the training for Ward Temple and Family History Consultants assigned to the Stake Family History Center come from the Stake Temple and Family History Consultant – Family History Center, or the Ward Temple and Family History Leader, or both, or someone else?
Question 3: In the above situation in question 1, to whom do the Ward Temple and Family History Consultants who are assigned to the Family History Center report: A. To the Stake Temple and Family History Consultant – Family History Center, B. To the Ward Temple and Family History Leader, or C. Both the Stake Temple and Family History Consultant - Family History Center and to the Ward Temple and Family History Leader?
I am wondering if there is a Knowledge Article or some other source that will help. I have found from the Help Center the Knowledge Article: “Helps for new family history center leaders, information for members”, related to the Family History Center leader, as follows:
"If your current staff members are not trained to provide one-on-one experiences for your patrons, please train them.
If you don't feel comfortable providing that training, see if another stake temple and family history consultant can help you, or consult with your priesthood leaders for help.
If you don't have enough staff provided by the units assigned to the family history center, meet with your priesthood leaders, and let them know of your need for more staff. Staff can include ward temple and family history consultants as well as community and member volunteers."
I have also found in Handbook 2 relevant instruction in section 5.4.3.1 for the role of the Ward Temple and Family History Leader, 5.4.4 the role of the Ward Temple and Family History Consultants, and 5.4.7.2 as to Family History Centers. However, I am not clear on the above 3 questions.
I am wondering if someone may be able to help point me to relevant instruction, or if others who have experience would help to clarify.

I am certainly NOT an authority; but, that said ...
.
In answer to your questions:
.
1. 'Yes'. All "Ward/Branch, Temple and Family History, Consultants", whether or not they are 'Assigned' to as "Staff Members" of a "Family History Centre" (FHC) SHOULD (in fact, MUST) attend the Ward/Branch 'Consultants Coordination Meetings' with the other Ward/Branch Consultants and work in the Ward/Branch to coordinate individual 'Temple and Family History' Work with Ward/Branch Members. The 'Assignment' in the FHC is only part of their 'Calling' - all-be-it an important part.
.
2. 'Both'. The "Ward/Branch, Temple and Family History, Leader" in the FIRST instance; and, the "Stake/District, Temple and Family History, Consultants -- Family History Centre" in the SECOND instance. The Ward/Branch (T&FH) Leader; and, the Stake/District (T&FHC--FHC) Director - FHC, should/MUST co-ordinate and work together, in all aspects, in the first instance. If they do, there should be no problems/issues for the Consultants.
.
3. 'Both'. EXACTLY as in 2. above.
.
It is more 'common sense' than anything else.
.
The Maunual/Guides/etc can only go so far and be very generic.
.
But; as I suggested, it truly is more 'common sense' than anything else.
.
I hope this helps.

My ward calling has nothing to do with my volunteer work in the Family History library. They are 2 separate groups and I would need to attend meetings for both if needed. Our family history library is shared by 2 stakes now as there was growth and a new stake was created so the Library has reach beyond the stake levels and so each stake has a Stake Temple and Family history leader and the Family History Center has its own directors separate from the stake calling, they work along side them. At least that is what we do here plus we have a handful of non member volunteers who work at our Family History Library too.

In our stake, temple and family history consultants volunteer to work family history center. They can still be temple and family history consultants in the ward.

The handbook states that as an extra assignment some consultants may be assigned to work in the Family History Center. That should be in addition to their work in their ward. In our stake all the workers are also Ward T&FH Consultants.

As the Handbook2 states, having the TFHLeader assign consultants to the Stake Family HIstory Center is a great concept and addition to the former program. Each Consultant should relish taking turns going to the Stake and working with the Stake Consultants to learn everything from Advanced skills to presentation skills. With this year being the 200 commemorative celebration, this is a banner opportunity for all consultants to work together and work towards being able to man a booth so that each stake can consider having a FH Fair and invite the community to take part in the journey of finding their families. (learning scanning pictures, researching, Ancestry, FS, Printing Names, other ways to do FH, i.c., Scrapbooking, journaling, etc., sourcing, Puzzilla, and so many other options to consider).. Working together as Ward Consultants under the Stake Consultants (who are in place because of their experience) really fast tracks your abilities as a Consultant. It will increase your confidence in performing the one on one, spirit-led, family history experience as well.

I love your idea about having a FH fair! What a great idea to include the community and a way to invite them to the FHC! And include the entire ward in the preparations which would then Get them excited in their own FH work as they prep for the event as well. Right now we are doing an indexing challenge to index 2020 records by Jan 1 at 2020. So far our little ward has indexed over 670 records as of yesterday! That is including our youth. People want to be involved they just need a little direction.
