Hi,
my name is Sarah. I am a youth consultant in my ward. Recently our bishopric gave something called the cookie challenge. If you youth were to complete the items off of the list then one of the members of our bishopric would bring a gift card to a local cookie shop. So it turned into an activity that the different quroms and classes wanted for their youth. So I was asked to help. The things I taught them during the activity included how to sign up for RootsTech, how to use ordinances ready, and how to access and use the family search activities. They then were all able to share with each other one thing they had learned or thought was cool. Like for the family search activities some of them did famous relatives so they were sharing the famous person they were related to.
just an idea. Hope it helps!

These challenges that were available to all youth and young adults this past week during RootsTech would be good activities: https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/rtc2021/series/our-quest-for-connection
And my friend's blog has tons of resources for activities for teens and children: https://familylocket.com/family-history-for-children-and-teens/

Oh! And I would first ask the youth class presidencies what they would be interested in doing. Since there are literally thousands of things they could do, it would be best to let them do the planning of what you end up doing.

I would suggest doing 'sources to stories'! Encourage each person to find an ancestor on familysearch and piece together their story based on sources, stories, and memories. They can write it out and for the activity everyone can take turns sharing the story they learned. If some didn't do it, it may inspire them to do it after the activity. There is strength that comes from learning the stories of our ancestors and also sharing it with others.

Our Ward did a YM activity at our building where the young man and leaders came and did indexing. They spread out in the foyer for social distancing and it was a very successful activity.
