I am searching for my father's baby sister Irene Antunes who was living temporarily with her grandmo
We have no documentation at all of her existence. We are pretty certain that she was born at home in the U.S. and traveled with her siblings and mother to visit her grandmother as an infant however we have searched for years for birth and baptism records in the U.S. and cannot find anything. We know for sure that she died in Portugal as a baby. Her mother left her behind (sick) with her grandmother who is documented on a 1930 ship manifest as residing in Logar de Ferro, Covilha. So we are therefore assuming that this is the area of Portugal where she would have died. Any idea where I should write to for death records in the Covilha area for 1930 timeframe? I have not been successful finding anything online.
