Please translate as much as you can
Please translate as much as possible. There are names that I need to know who they are with dates, age, occupation, any information will help to find the father to Filippo. What is said in the record?
How do I find church records on him? I know he was in a foundling home any records there?
Thank you!!!!

This is a recognition notarial document filed 22 Feb 1912 in Alberobello. Addolorata Martellotta, daughter of deceased Antonio Vito, unmarried, majority age, wishes to publicly recognize as her natural son a child born in Alberobello on 25 May 1889 and registered with the name Filippo Negri, son of unknown parents. As a result of the recognition the child's surname is changed to Martellotta.
Here is the original birth record for Filippo (#7). It is interesting to note that the wet nurse to whom Filippo was given for nourishment was Maria Martellotta, daughter of Antonio Vito (and presumably sister of Addolorata), so it must have been an open secret as to whose child it was.

Carlo de Anna (son of Michele) is the notary. The witnesses appearing with Addolorata before the notary are Cosimo d'Agostino (son of Salvadore), a tailor, and Domenico Gigante (son of deceased Donato), a landowner. No relationship noted.

Thanks! I recognize these names in my DNA matches.
question: Is there a sight to go to for deaths in the 1930's on up?

For Bari province there are no online records after 1929; you would need to write to the comune directly to request records not available online and provide a copy of your ID.

Cousin Vinny,
Thank you for answering my questions and promptly translating all that I ask for. I'm still trying though to find any clues or documents that would state the birth father. I have a feeling it's filed away somewhere after the mother claimed Filippo as her son. There must be other paperwork besides birth, marriage, and death records. I was there in his hometown two years ago to do research for the day, but of all days it was a Holiday and everything was closed. I need a genealogist to go there!
Thanks again.....
