Can someone confirm these translations from Maori to English? I used Google translate, but I am not

I've done some research and I think this is indeed Kiribati. Google Translate did a strangely good job of translating despite the language actually not being Māori.

 

As far as I can tell, that mystery phrase says something about a town and island. I'm thinking it's either the location where the decedent was born, or where they were last residing.
