BETA TESTERS FOR FAMILYSEARCH IMAGES: If you would like to be a beta tester for FamilySearch images, click on this link asap to get on the list because this week sometime the door will close for adding people. It is an easier way to find the film you are looking for, and because only 20% of the films are indexed, 80% of the records are often missed because they are difficult to get to - this new interface is designed to help people get to the 80% of the records that are usually untouched. https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/

I don't see anything there about signing up.

I also tried to sing up a beta tester and when I clicked on the link it recognized me as already being signed into my FamilySearch account. I even tried signing out and then signing in again to my account then clicking the link with the same results. Maybe because i am already signed in to my account the system already recognizing me as a beta tester.

Steve, that is it. If you go to the page and are signed in, you are automatically signed up. Just bookmark the page. Did you try searching it? I searched for a county in Florida with a date range, and I found a probate record I hadn't seen before. Let me know what you find.

I followed your advise, so I guess that it means that I am now a beta tester. I recognize that beta testing means the image details site is being tested. If I find that a particular location that I am searching may be covering a different state, or local how do I report it. Is the intent of this site so that a user might find records that are not listed in the catalog, or some other reason for a user to go this site in the first place. I think that the site is very promising and in the meantime I will continue participating primarily seeking for records in the own family history. I look forward too your enlightenment.

I guess my real question is why a user would go to this site. It almost seems to be pretty much a duplicate of that which be found in the catalog..

I only wish I knew how to spell "sign" instead of "sing" and "advice" instead of "advise".

It is a duplicate of the catalog, however, I think it will be easier for people who don't understand the catalog to see that there is a record, but it isn't indexed yet. Maybe they will have the record images become a hint. That would be cool. Also, glad you got in when you did, because it is closed to everyone now. To give feedback, do you see the right hand side of the page? I think I would just give any feedback you think of. Something you suggest might not be anything they have thought of.
Thanks for misspelling your words. I do it all the time, especially when I swype on my phone

When I clicked on your link I received the following message. It might be because the volunteer part has closed.
