Japanese research of a living person
My daughter-in-law's grandmother is Japanese born in 1934. She speaks no English and has had several strokes so her memory is not good. No one in the family speaks enough Japanese to have a conversation. No one knows who her parents were or anything. She is the last link with the past. How can we find her parents and more?

Hi Vynette,
Does this family live in the United States? If so, does her family know when she immigrated or where she was born? Does the grandmother have any papers in her possession which may help? I have a friend who speaks Japanese, her parents were sent to an interment camp during WWII. I would start by having her family gather any information they can which will give some clues as to where to start looking. Please let me know what they find.
