My great-great-grandfather, Robert F. Hind, b. 1857 in England, died from dysentery on a boat travel
I am looking for documentation to support this family story that has been passed down.

Wow, that's great info. Thank you. That pushed me in the right direction and after googling further I found a medical card confirming he died from "dysentery" and good photos of his burial site.
The tragedy does not end there. Robert had supposedly traveled to South Africa with a daughter or close relative, one possible name is Emma May Hind, but this is not certain. She was either abducted or ran-away. He spent a lot of money looking for her but never did. I have now found Robert's name a few times in South Africa archives, establishing him in SA between 1902-1915.
How can I find missing persons reports and/or police reports for South Africa ?

Hi Nick, So happy for you. It's always great to hear that I was able to help. Now for Police reports - that's a tough one. I did find a site about police reports in South Africa, but have not done any searching on it. It is: police reports south africa - Bing
Again, thanks so much for your reply - you made my day!
