Photos with audio- is the following approach feasible?
My granddaughter wants me to provide her with photos of myself and her (late) nanny and for me to add audio commentary to them. For my part, I'd like those photos to eventually be publicly available, so that I don't have to add commentary to my copies of the photos too.
Do you think that the following approach is practical please?
To provide my granddaughter with my stash of photos for which she will have the full flexibility of the filtering available in Gallery in her account.
For her to give me access to these photos and for me to add audio recordings to them.
On her Family Tree, for her to attach these photos as Memories to my Person.
Long term requirement
Once FS has been informed of my death, to have these photos with their audio recordings universally available.
Many thanks
Dave

As no one else has yet responded ...
I understand your post ...
.
As an aside ...
Here is something else to consider ...
.
The 'Status' of YOUR personal "FamilySearch Person Identifier" (ie. PID), that being you as a User/Patron of 'FamilySearch'; as, a (CURRENTLY) "Living" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', will most likely NOT be "Changed" that of "Deceased", when you Die; UNLESS, you are a Member of the Church; and, your 'Ward/Branch Clerk' changes you status in the Membership Records of the Church to that of being "Dead".
.
Or ...
.
IF, you are not a member of the Church; THEN, members of your immediate family, both, (1) are aware of your (personal) "FamilySearch Person Identifier" (ie. PID) in 'FamilySearch'; and, (2) formally, notify (with 'Proof'/'Evidence') 'FamilySearch' of your Death.
.
Now ...
That said ...
.
My understanding is that 'FamilySearch' is EXPLORING avenues with regard to, "Inheritance"; and/or, "Bequeathing", of the "Living" (Users/Patrons) individuals/persons (and, most likely, the "Memories" of such) in the "Private Spaces", of a recently deceased Family member, to an immediate Family member.
.
And, I also understanding is that 'FamilySearch' is EXPLORING much MORE in regard to "Living" (Users/Patrons) individuals/persons in our "Private Spaces" ...
.
Something that WILL take some time, 'make no bones about' that ...
.
There are a myriad of "Privacy" Laws within the many various Countries and Unions throughout the World - it is a nightmare to negotiate.
.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is used in many Countries and Unions throughout the World; and, as such, must adhere to the myriad of "Privacy" Laws throughout the World.
.
Hence, "Privacy" is one of the reasons that we cannot "Share" the "Living" individuals/persons in our own "Private Spaces" - it is NOT the ONLY reason; but, certainly has a bearing on the matter.
.
Another factor is that such would have to be 'Coded'/'Programmed' into the Programme that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Just my thoughts.

If you record an audio to an ancestor, those will show up while you are living.

See the Help Article How do I record a story about a photo or document?
6. Click Record a Memory.
- If you do not see this button, it means that you did not upload the photo or document. To submit your story, type it in as a comment instead.
So if you want to record audio about the photos they will need to be uploaded using your FamilySearch account.
If you would like your granddaughter to be able to see the photos now, the easiest way is to add them to one or more albums & share the album URL with her.

Hi Jessie, regarding this specific point. If my granddaughter allowed me to make my recordings on HER copy of the photographs she would be able to listen to them immediately. If she has to wait until I'm deceased, my concerns are:- 1. She couldn't listen to the audios until then. 2. If the retrieval system is as now, the photos attached to my Person would be in random order. With my approach she could listen to the audios now AND sort them into a meaningful chronological order using her Gallery filters.
