Lois Kilby, Mae Bingman Kilby Davis Harrison Cole (1891-1976) Nancy Lawson, Amanda Casebolt, Samuel
Maes mother is listed as Nancy Lawson on her death cert, but S.T. Bingman and Nancy Lawson didnt get married until 1894 (Mae was supposedly born in 1891) ... ALSO Nancy Lawson was Nancy Tatum before she was a Lawson, her husband before S.T. Bingman was Issac Lawson.... Nancy was ST Bingmans second wife... his first wife was Amanda Casebolt (b. 1861)... they were married in 1879. So i wonder if Casebolt was Maes mother? if so, why was Lawson listed on her death cert? and why would Mae be listed as the Lawson grand daughter in census and newspaper articles?

Yikes! What a question! So, if I understand correctly, Nancy Tatum (maiden surname or married surname?) married Isaac Lawson and later S. T. Bingman. On her daughter, Mae's, death certificate her name is listed as Nancy Lawson.
What reference to you have to 'Lawson granddaughter'?
Who was the informant for Mae's death certificate?
With the information you've stated here, the possibility is either direction, that Mae is Nancy's daughter by a previous relationship, but that the person who gave the information couldn't remember exactly what her name was. I have several references like this where the mother's name was listed by her prior married name, rather than her surname.
If Mae is listed as a granddaughter to a Lawson, then it would seem she is Isaac's daughter rather than Nancy's (according to the birth date). And it is quite possible that if her mother (Casebolt) died before she was three, that whoever gave the information on the death certificate named the only mother that was known. Can you give a reference to a tree and the sources? Is it possible that the birth year you have is wrong and she was actually born after the 1894 marriage?
