I was working with a sister via face time yesterday who had a popup come up about filling out a surv
She read me the questions as she filled it out, and they were all reasonable questions about her fs usage, such as do you access fs on your phone or on your computer, how long have you had a fs account, etc. When she completed it, the page showed items she had won by filling out the survey if she just paid the postage. She immediately closed it, but it kept popping up during our session together. Have any of you seen this?

I will find out how she wants to be contacted and get back to you pronto. I just don't know how malware can be popping up on family search asking questions that are pretty applicable to the website.

Malware like that "lives on" the person's computer, not on the website she/he is visiting. Also, if you think about it, the questions you quoted are actually quite generic: they can apply to any website with accounts and logins.

Malware is very sophisticated. And what was described in the post is definitely malware. I've seen it on someone else's computer when I was using TeamViewer to help them.

These exact surveys were coming up on a computer in our FHC about 18 months ago. The person in charge of the FHC got Church support to help her and she may have also utilized the Stake Technology Specialist to assist her. It got fixed and we were all relieved.

Great input @kristenmurphy1 kristenmurphy1. Based off your comment, it seems like there may have been a security update of some kind that needed to be implemented on the FHC computers that support and tech specialist needed to address. I would recommend personally, as a former technical support engineer of an unrelated company to have all FHC consultants contact their support and/or tech specialists ensure that their operating and internal security systems are all up to date.

This happened to me some months ago as I was helping someone. When I questioned it here, I was told that they would look at it, but it was most likely on the sister's computer. She tried closing and reopening the account as well as her restarting her computer. I will have to ask her if she is still having problems. It is a hacking problem though and should just be ignored.
