Lots of Photo printing companies can print photos on ornaments. Search 'Portrait Ornaments' and you come up with lots of ideas. I've also seen portraits inserted into the clear glass bulbs that you can buy from hobby and craft stores.
I made a wreath using photos that I printed on heavy paper. The portraits were about 2"x1.5" oval and I used a gold trim that I bought from a craft store to make a frame around the edge. Then I punched a hole through them and wired them to a plain greenery wreath. Twisted pearls and gold ribbon around the wreath. It lasted through about 10 years and 12 moves....I should make another one!

Thanks you for all those ideas!! 😁💖 Did you take a picture of your wreath? That in it's self sounds like a treasure!!

No, I never did take a picture of it. But I have even more photos now than I did then.
I'll tell you one thing that I've always wanted to make...a signature pedigree chart that uses each ancestor's actual signature rather than a typed name. Thoughts?

I have seen some pretty ornaments that have included copies of family photos. I have seen some done with added flourishes that give them an antique look, or include trinkets that reminded them of their ancestor.

I have seen people that have printed a photo and a signature to add to the inner framed area of the photo. I think this is so cool to add. I have thought that this might be fun to add in shadow boxes that contain items from our ancestors. (I am thinking of a spoon collection, or their favorite hankie, pipe, or trinkets and a signature to go with these.)

I can also type up their info and add it to the back of the ornaments.

When our children were young, we blew out the contents of extra large eggs. Then I cut an oval in the front of the egg with tiny scissors. Gently wash out any egg residue. Attach a ribbon or tie of some kind to the stop with a hot glue gun. We next rolled the eggs in Elmers Glue and then in glitter. Let dry thoroughly - overnight (Bake cookies with the eggs) When the glitter is dry, cut a photograph a little larger than the oval in the egg. Slip it inside the oval. It's done. These are very strong when the glitter and glue dry. You can also create small vignettes in the eggs.

Do you have any photos of these eggs that you could share with us?

Well, you are very creative. I love anything that helps or becomes a vehicle to teach children about the people they come from. Really fun idea! Well done! Thanks for sharing, Pam.
