Can someone tell me if the father's name is given in this entry? The mother's name is Anna Ursula Schneider and the illegitimate child's name is Johann Conrad. This is from the Walldorf Kirchbuch, 1763.
It is the last entry on the page, written vertically, No. 26, .
Thank you.

..was born to a slovenly beggar girl from Wallbach by the name of Anna Ursula Schneider a little son . The father is supposed to be a French deserter who was a servant to Joh. Conr. Schneider. Witness N. [none?] [Child's name] Johann Conrad . Due to the child being very weak he had to receive emergency christening, but one Reichstaler still had to be paid to me because in this emergency it wasn't possible to find both godparents. Not: This will be important for my successors to know.

Thank you for taking the time to transcribe and translate the whole entry. The baby was born in Dec. 1763. I found this entry of January 20th 1766 in the death registry. I think it could be the same child. Because of his Schwachheit I thought he might die early in life.
I can read " Abends in der Stille begraben" and at the end "Er war von Wallbach gebürtig". Wallbach is where he was born.

I suspect that this is not a match. This burial on the 20 tho January says was Johann Conrad Schneider, unmarried "der bey dem hiesigen Hirten der Schweins gehütet" - who had been herding the pigs with the herder here, was buried quietly in the evening. He was born in Walldorf.
My guess is that he was in his teens or early 20s.
The tone of that baptism entry suggested to me that the newborn Johann Jacob would likely die within hours or days after birth. Of course he could have pulled through after all.

Thank you again. It shows that a little knowledge can be dangerous or at least misleading. Once again, your transcription is very helpful.
