Robert-
Thanks for all of your help. Sorry for duplicating that last one. I thought it sounded familiar but it didn't see it until you said that she was single… I have a separate question. I have a Wagenknecht family DNA relationship on Ancestry from Australia. Their Wagenknecht comes from a town called "Dittmansdorf", Schlesien, Preussen. If they are DNA related, it would seem that it would be near Gersdorf am Quies. I notice that the towns in Meyersgaz are not all labelled or they have multiple duplicate names. Would you be more familiar where the right Dittmannsdorf would more likely be located? Thanks!

Hello @Jared Lee Sommer,
Note the jurisdictional hierachy for Gersdorf 12) Queis: Gersdorf, Bunzlau, Liegnitz, Schlesien, Preussen,
While there are a number of places called Dittmannsdorf in Silesia (Schlesien), there's only one with Liegnitz in its jurisdictional hierarchy: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10351013
This is likely the Dittmannsdorf you are looking for.

Is it possible that she was actually born in
(only 4 miles from Dittmannsdorf) and the person reporting her birth location in the death record assumed it was the Bunzlau Gersdorf?0 -
Yes, that's possible. Keep both options for Gersdorf open until your research is able to confirm one or the other.

The strange thing is that my Wagenknect and Pohl ancestors come from Gersdorf am Queis for at least a few generations. I'm DNA related to another family that also comes from somehow from Gerstorf am Queis on Ancestry, but I'm not sure how yet, but it seems to be 2 generations earlier than where I have records for. This Dittmannsdorf has thrown me a loop. Thanks for your help!

You're welcome, @Jared Lee Sommer. Note that the two Gersdorfs appear to be approximately 20 miles apart in the same general area of Schlesien.
