Four Different Dates of Birth Inconsistency Not Detected
The Profile Quality Score on Joseph Hewes (LCYM-ZXW) is "High". The person is considered "well documented" with nine stars for data consistent with sources and data is conflict free. Nine stars in all for consistency. The Profile Quality Score algorithms obviously place a premium on consistency. But it appears, at least in some cases, that the algorithms are unable to detect inconsistencies.
In the Details section of the profile you will find four different dates of birth are given, cited or referenced. This is inconsistency on steroids.
1. 23 June 1730;
2. January 23, 1730 (on the headstone referenced in the Details Section as a reason for the correct date. See findagrave.com and view the picture of the headstone or plaque dedicated to Hewes on the grounds of the Christ Church Philadelphia burial grounds. See also the Brief Life History);
3. 9 July 1730 under the Find a Grave Index as a sources for date of Birth;
4. 28th of 4th month 1730 in the Quaker records referenced as sources. (See the PDF Memory Source)
Apparently the Quality Profile algorithm could not detect these inconsistencies.
Not that it matters but the Quaker records are the closest things we have to an original record of his birth. They say he was born on 28 4th month (June) 1730 by the Julian Calendar which is equivalent to 9 July 1730 by the modern Gregorian Calendar.
This is a read only profile and nothing will be corrected until the discoveries concerning Hewes made recently (in the last one hundred years) by historians become more generally known and make their way into the indexed data. Again, not that it matters, but just for the record there are a total of 20 false claims (10 in the Brief Life History and 10 in the Details Sections) and 10 inconsistencies in the profile. Not quite what I consider a high quality profile.

And, the profile is Read Only; it cannot be improved or the issues resolved.

Thank you for that observation — I have been trying for five years to get corrections made and all I ever get is a boiler plate reply that "experts" will review the profile and make necessary corrections.

@Rhonda Budvarson Can you enlighten me, please? Does the Read-Only status of a profile impact the PQS? I don't often work in the realm of Read-Only profiles.

@RobertTest a ticket has been created for this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Rhonda,
Sorry, It looks as if no one can enlighten you on the effect that the read-only status impacts PQS. I have no idea either. I just know that Read-Only profiles cannot be edited by those who have spent years studying the subject of the profile.
