Question on Parents
I have a marriage record in Lipnica Murowana of Catharina Włodarczyk (to Sebastian Przybyłko) that shows her father as Ignatio. (Thanks Maria for the translation!) However, I could not find a birth record for Catharina to Ignatio and his wife Catharina (I found a lot of other children). I did, however, find a birth record for Catharina's son, Joannes Przybyłko, and it shows Catharina of Jacob Włodarczyk. I then found a birth record for Catharina to Jacob Włodarczyk in Lipnica Murowana that would correspond to marriage date. Additionally, Ignatio and family were from a village 29 km away. (Complicating matters were that Ignatio died in Lipnica Murowana, not the village where he raised his family). Another researcher, my cousin, lists Jacob as the father, but she did not have this contradicting marriage record. How do I know which father is the correct father?

Jill, please resend to me the marriage record of Catharina Wlodarczyk to Sebastial Przyblko. I will review it and try to make sense of it.

I've uploaded them through the helper screen, it is just taking a bit to post due to technical issues. Thank you Maria and I hope you are well!

I didn't get a good copy from the film for Joannes' birth. It is film #2091080, image #22. Unfortunately, it is not available digitally due to contractual issues.

Jill, I am sorry, but it still looks like the father of Catharine in the marriage record which you sent me is written as Ignatio or Ignacy. It is not Jakob. Please keep in mind that in those times they did not have written or printed IDs. The recorder might have misheard the name of the father of the bride or at the baptism of the child of Sebastian Przybylko and Catharina Wlodarczy, when the father of the infant recited the lineage of the mother of the infant, he might have made a mistake. Please check the house number of Sebastian Przybylko and if his chlld is born in the same house.

Jill, you did a very good research of events: births, marriages, and deaths which took place in house No. 118. I agree with you that it most likely was Jakub and not Ignacy. It could have been recorder's error or problem due to pronunciation. You have corrected it. Congratulations on your thorough research.
