It sounds like you're adding people from the pedigree view? I've also had problems switching spouses in the new pedigree view. Clicking on the people icon in the upper left corner of the person's pedigree box shows the spouse list but doesn't always have a check box to switch to them. I haven't been able to figure out why the check boxes are there sometimes and no other times.
You can always go to your profile page on the group tree and when you click add spouse and children the add person box pops up. You'll notice there's now a middle tab option to add someone from your familysearch tree. Just start typing their name and it should pop up so you can select the person you want to add.
That new tab option in the add person box is one of the ways I've been using to figure out whether I'm on the group tree or main familysearch tree because the tree identifier in the upper left corner of the profile page isn't always accurate after I've accessed the other tree in a different browser tab. It seems to switch all the open browser tabs to the other tree without refreshing the tree selected info. I reported this as a defect but the answer was to manually refresh the screen every time I change browser tabs.0 -
How can I find the profile page on the group tree? I want to add a different spouse to the group tree I created for my Dad. It added my Preferred spouse from the Family Search tree, but I need to add a different spouse for my Dad on this family group tree. Since I can't find the profile page on the group tree, I can't click on add spouse or person or find a middle tab to add someone from the family search global tree.

You can get to their profile page just as you do from any familysearch tree. Click on them in the tree, the box with their info pops up and then click person. The upper left corner now shows if you're looking at someone on your group tree or the familysearch tree.

The check boxes are available when switching the spouse of the main person in the tree. Any person other than the main person just shows the names:
The main person in the tree is indicated by a color outline all the way around their box:

Anne, I am with you. I can select one spouse or another, but not multiple spouses. I think what I need to do is be able to select multiple spouses to get all my siblings. All the spouses are already listed so "adding" one would seem to just get me a duplicate, something I don't want to hazard.
Also, when I click on the spouses icon in the upper left of my dad, I get a drop down for the alternate spouses for my mom, not my dad. To get alternate spouses for my mom, I have to click on the icon in my dad's box. That seems counter-intuitive to me.

@ChrisJohnston8 Currently, there is no good way to show all the spouses of an individual. We have had this request several times. The engineers are aware of this request.
As for the spouses icon location. It is another moot point. Half of the folks think it makes most sense to be on the spouse's side, the other half want it on the person's side. I'm with you personally, but as the vote is pretty much split on which is the most intuitive location, there is no good reason to move it.

Good news all! There is now a Spouses and Children chip under a couple (when you are in the Copy from FamilySearch Tree tool) that allows you to copy individuals from other marriages.
