How do I merge living people that are new in my shared family tree
My brother is in my shared family tree group, but I can't figure out how to get visibility to his part of the tree. "What's New at FamilySearch for Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2024" seemed to say that I should merge by ID, but that doesn't work. I get These two people cannot be merged because one has conditions that prohibit changes.

@ClarkKennethC Your brother would need to copy his information from his Private List to the same Family Group Tree that your information is in. He can do so one-by-one using these instructions or he can copy many people by clicking on Person List and then clicking COPY FROM FAMILYSEARCH TREE and in the pop up, click on SELECT PEOPLE.

My brother was able to add himself, and then use the plus button to add the rest of his family. But I can't get my wife in correctly. When she joined the group she added herself and our children. We did a merge and thought that things were done.
We then notice that her Person in "Family Search Tree" in not included in the Shared Group. I checked all of the change histories ( merges ) and saw no ID that matched the one in the "Family Search Tree". Her siblings and other details don't match either.
I can't merge her Person without it being in the Shared tree, and we can't get her "Family search Tree" Person added into the Shared Tree because it thinks it's already done. In fact is seems like it was added, but NOT THE CORRECT ONE.
When we try and add her Person to the group again we get the error shown in the screenshot included.
The Shared group ID is GPYT-V2P. it was merged with G5MW-F36.
But my wife's "Family Search Tree" ID is KWHG-VV3
How would you suggest we get this resolved. It seems to be some kind of bug, Not something we did. I could easily by wrong though.

You have done everything correctly. Understand that the IDs from someone's FamilySearch Tree will not match ANY of the IDs in the Family Group Trees. You are making a COPY of your FamilySearch Tree profiles and therefore creating new IDs.
It was recently noted in another post that when someone joins the Family Group and copies JUST YOURSELF into the Family Group, it automatically merges with the ID that was originally created for that person in the Family Group Tree. This may be why you don't see duplicates of your wife in your Family Group Tree. If you look at your wife's profile in Family Group Tree you should see the merge in the All Changes list.
You can look at the Person List and sort by name to find duplicates.
One other thing to note. When you bring in a profile that has memories attached, if any of the memories are locked to Private visibility, even in the Family Group Tree they are locked to Private. The tags to the memories will be brought in when you copy the profile, but only the owner will be able to see them and will need to change the visibility to include that Family Group Tree in order for other family members to see those memories. So, if you see a different number of memories attached to a Family Group Tree profile than someone else does, go look to see if all of the memories have their visibility set to Limited Access with that Family Group Tree allowed.

Thank you for your feedback on Family Group Trees. There have been many updates to the Family Group Trees tool and its instructions. If you after reviewing these, you are still having issues, please start a new post in this group.
