Are there name variants on records?
According to the Kirchenbuchduplikat of Maxsain, Eva Maria Dorn was born on August 26, 1777 daughter of Johann Philip and Anna Elisabethe Schmidt, married Wilhem Heinrich Humerich on January 14th, 1799 and had 3 children, she died November 12, 1835 at around 4 in the morning. It is important to note that the Dorn surname wasn't very common at the time of the Kirchenbuchduplikat, nor was it in the Kirchenbuch, I never found any Dorn's in the Birth or Death section, only the death section. In the death section, I had found 2 Dorn's other than Eva Maria: (Deaths, Page 9) Philip Heinrich Dorn, born January 28, 1747 son of Johann Peter and Julia Dorn, nee [Unknown]. He married Maria Elisabethe, daughter of Johann Martin Schmidt on May 3, 1774 and had 2 children, Maria died April 6, 1790. He later married Maria Veronika, daughter of Johann Peter Steinbuchs on December 8, 1792, but she later passed December 15, 1803. Philip would later die on May 28, 1818. I had also found his son, (Deaths, Page 24) Johannes Adolph Dorn, born July 15, 1775 son of Philip Henrich and Maria Elisabethe Dorn, nee Schmidt. He married Elisabethe Langin on July 4, 1801, but had no children (if I read it correctly). He later died on April 24, 1820. The same thing occured with the father of some Humerich's being Johann Christ Humerich and for one of them Johannes, but the mother was the same, and i had never found a Johannes Humerich marrying a Schmidt in the Church Records of Maxsain
In summary, I am asking if the variants of names in the Kirchenbuchduplikat of Maxsain is merely coincidencial or if the books had also listed people with different name variants like johannes Peter being Johann Peter on other pages.

Many names on historical documents were written phonetically in many countries. Also, sometimes people used a "common" name that was different than their registered birth name for day-to-day affairs. I expect johannes Peter and Johann Peter are very likely the same person; but you should consider doing extra research to ensure there are not two persons in that community with the "same" name.
