Tysnes, Hordaland Norway Probate Request

Hi Diane, thanks for your question.
Since this list of names is in the probate book, I think what you are looking at is the actual probate. Due to his age (87) from the death records, he probably didn't have anything of value to give to his descendents so no probate was conducted. Because of the poor quality of the image in the Norwegian archives, I am unable to be sure about what your record says about him. I am unable to access the FamilySearch version of the record (which will probably be clearer) from my home, however I will be at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and will be able to look at them then. I will consult with the Nordic staff there and get back to you about what the record you have attached actually says.
As a side note about Christopher Madsen, in looking at his death record, I see that he is actually listed twice with 2 different death dates but the same burial date! See this record: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/11703/194. He is listed in entry 23 (death date = 3 May) and 28 (death date = 30 April) - all other information in both entries is the same.
To make things even more interesting, here is another record with his death date as 26 April (entry #15): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/11705/121.

I checked with the Nordic staff at the FamilySearch Library and my assumption was correct. The records says "Certified on 2 Septbr (September) 1828 from Lesmd (lensmannd?) Brunne? and Knud Knudsen Gjersvig that nothing was found after (the death of) Christopher Madsen Støre Gjersvig and wife Guro Jansdatter of Opdahls Skibrede." See "skipreide" in the Norway Genealogical wordlist here: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Norwegian_Genealogical_Word_List#S.
