A couple of unusual terms from 1686 Alsace marriage record
I haven't seen these before:
- Honorifics for the two fathers: 'Ehrs und besch.' The first looks to be Ehrsam (Honorable?), but not sure what 'besch.' is the abbreviation for -- there are so many words that start with besch and none seem to fit.
- The second occupation/post for the first father (my direct ancestor) starts with what looks more like a Roman numero XIV than letters -- the W doesn't resemble the typical w's in Weyl. I scanned the other records made by this pastor, but they don't appear again like this. Looks like 'XIVeres / XWeres'. [The 'alhier' following it looks to be crossed out and corrected by 'zu Offendorf', so should be ignored.]
Suggestions appreciated!

besch. is probably bescheiden = modest, humble. I've seen this in other records as well.
I can't really help with the occupation or post.

@Ulrich Neitzel : Thanks! Yes, I'm afraid that occupation is going to be difficult to figure out!
