Translation of Arrendator

I've come across the word Arrendator, it appears as an occupation/ description for the males in records I've been searching in. Is this Latin? A search on the web makes me believe it translates to renter. Is that correct?

Arrendator is a tenant or lease holder (who rents a piece of land from the landowner). The word was used in German (and English) but is now outdated. Originally it comes from medieval Latin.
