Pfäffikon ZH - marriage - 1652 - Affeltranger&Wäber - bride's origin
At the URL below is the marriage record for Jagli Affeltranger and Anna Waeber. They were married in the Pfaffikon Parish in 1652. He is from the hamlet of Balm in this parish, however, I do not believe she is from the Pfaffikon Parish and I cannot read in this record where she is from. Can I get some help to read this and let me know where she is from. Thank you.

Not easy to decipher 😉.
I read "von Erdschmetlen in der Pfarr Gosauw" - with "Gossau parish" the important clue - and actually found Herschmettlen: https://search.ortsnamen.ch/de/record/7020655/. Amongst the alternative spellings mentioned is Erdschmetlen - source "your" marriage 1652: https://suche.staatsarchiv.djiktzh.ch/detail.aspx?ID=2037446.
Whenever you are looking for - or have reading problems with a marriage in canton Zürich before 1800, https://www.archives-quickaccess.ch/search/stazh/edb is THE site to consult ... as mentioned on https://community.familysearch.org/de/discussion/comment/507943/#Comment_507943.

Thank you very much for this information! Very helpful. I will need to figure out how to get an account to access the Zurich State Archives.

For this search in the "Zürcher Ehedatenbank" you don't need an account - it's free (ignore the "login" button, but don't ask me for what service you have to log in) - just type in the names etc (I hope the fields are self-explanatory). Keep in mind that name spellings are standardized - e.g. Jakob (not Jagli) and Weber (not Wäber). When you begin with a name, potential full names are shown (pull down menu): only use names from this menu - names not shown there don't exist in the database and nothing would be found.
BTW - I have started a topic on Affeltranger of Pfäffikon on https://www.geneal-forum.com/phpbb/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=32982. Also here: reading is free - only to view attachments or post comments/questions you have to be registered (which is free and without any obligation).

I am not sure it this is of direct help with your research right now - but you may want to have a look at https://www.kirchenbuch.ch/: this offers transcriptions from several parishes in "Zürcher Oberland" - including Pfäffikon. You have to register to be able to search the indices - but this seems to be free and without obligation.
Should you give it a go, I would be interested to read about your experiences.

Wolf--I checked out the website: https://www.kirchenbuch.ch/index.php?confirm=bs9gvXyf and set up my account. There is a lot of information and very helpful. I love how they have linked parents and their children together in one place. Thank you for pointing me there. The full transcriptions are a great help. I've already extended out one more generation the Affeltranger line I was researching!
