Trying to locate birth record

Hello, on behalf of a friend, I'm trying to locate a birth record for Luigi Bigogno. According to US World War II Draft Registration he was born on 25 Aug 1898 in Trecate. However, that is all I know. I also know of his mother's name Giuseppa Dellupi (sp?) and his father was Giovanni Bigogno. I've tried Antenati but have come across nothing yet.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

Antenati only has 1870 records for Trecate. FamilySearch has birth records from 1866 through the 1920s but you must be at a FamilySearch Center or FamilySearch Affiliate Library to view them: FamilySearch Catalog: Registri dello stato civile di Trecate (Novara), 1866-1925 — FamilySearch.org

Thanks again for the information. I did go to the FamilySearch Affiliate on Sep 5th and used your link above. I found the birth records for Trecate, but I'm confused on how they're organized. In the annual listing for the year 1898, I found the name, Luigi Bigogno and register number (181) but wasn't sure how to go further.

Appreciate any guidance you can provide---

Hi Bill -

Included here is the birth document you tried to access from Trecate for Luigi Bigogno. It is #181 within the year 1898. Note that the index for that year is located at the end of the records for that year (as is typical). So, once you found it, you needed to move backwards through the records. This is Image 1960 of 3159. Sadly, I can't place a link here, only the image.

If needed, relevant data is as follows:

Date birth reported: 25-Aug-1898, Date of Birth: 25-Aug-1898, 8:20 am

Father: Giovanni Bigogno, Age 31, farmer

Mother: Giuseppa Dellupi (?), his wife whom he lives with

Name: Luigi

There is an IMPORTANT margin note stating that Luigi married Carolina Canova 1-Feb-1930 in Trecate

Hi Stephen--many, many thanks for your post. I did manage to locate the digital file after figuring out the system as you mentioned above. My next step was to seek some assistance with translation, which, thankfully, you've provided me. I will relay this to the person on whose behalf I'm conducting the research.
