I need help clarifying this source

Problems: (1) DI0001024 is not a microfilm, and no one I asked at the FamilySearch Library yesterday knew what it could be. (2) The URL genealogie.com leads to Filae, but searching for Sebastien Kresser, 1794, Colmar there returned no results. (3) I searched civil death records at the Haut-Rhin departmental archives for the commune Colmar, both in the French Republican years II and III and in the decennial tables. There was no Kresser entry, nor a likely variant spelling.

Has anyone used this collection who can point me to the original record source?

It's not Kresser, it's Kieffer Sebastien.

so could you show me the document where you have seen the name of sebastien KRESSER. it possible that the name wha not correctly written because it was the beginning of french archives, before french republic, it was made by religious people who was better at written.

notice that alsacian scripture is sometimes difficult to read for us, because Alsace was sometimes french and sometimes german

I have not seen the name of Sebastien Kresser in a document, only in the index entry I linked in my original post. The document is what I am trying to find. It is possible that the index has the wrong name, date, commune, or everything. That is why I need help deciphering the reference to microfilm DI0001024.

Gregorian 17 November 1794 should be 27 brumaire an III according to the converter at Napoleon.org, and it should be in civil death records from Colmar at the Haut-Rhin archives, but it's not.

I have not seen the microfilm because DI0001024 is not a legitimate microfilm number. All I have seen is the citation I originally posted. I am trying to identify the alleged microfilm DI0001024. This is a question for FamilySearch Library personnel, thanks.

Merci! I thought the indexed name was a mistake. I research the Kresser family name worldwide, and I often find such errors. Since the index cannot be corrected, I will add Sebastien Kieffer to the FamilySearch tree and attach the source so others can find him by his true name. Although the record does not include his age, it tells that he came from Schwalbach, which is probably the town in Saarland. "dans le pays de deux ponts" may refer to Zweibrücken in Rheinland-Pfalz nearby.

I read the name as Kiesser as the S in the last name matches the script of the S in the middle S of Sebastien. Through the rest of the document the S seems to take many shapes. But consistently the shape is also an S.

Thanks, but I believe Kieffer is correct. Compare Kauffmann in the second image, the next to last K entry.
