Helper Number
Can someone tell me what this is and in what circumstances it would be used and how? Like, Would this be something I could use to share my “personal space” and FS tree (with living people included) so that another family member would be able to see it? If so, how? 😊

This link will help explain how and when you can use Helper Access: https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/signing-family-tree/

Unfortunately, If I understand correctly - helper mode is only available to LDS members (which doesn't exactly make sense)

everyone with a Family Search account has a helper number, member or not.

I understand that to be true
the point is - I understand that only an LDS member can be the one in the "helper mode" (doing the helping)
and that is what I meant by "it doesn't exactly make sense"

.
'Dennis' is CORRECT.
.
The "Help Others" function/facility/feature is ONLY available to Users/Patrons who are Member of the Church.
.
The "Help Others" function/facility/feature is NOT available to non-member Users/Patrons.
.
'LewisNORMANSharonMarie' is also correct.
.
Every User/Patron of "FamilySearch" has a "Helper Number".
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in "FamilySearch" on the matter:
.
How do I use the Help Others link in Family Tree?
(for Members ONLY to access)
.
And, 'No', it is not very helpful ... I know of many Users/Patrons who are non-members; and, would be/make better helpers than most members of the Church; but, alas, it is not to be.
.
The matter had been discussed in the "FamilySearch" ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum over the years.
.
Here are just a couple of past posts in that Forum:
.
Non-members are complaining that why they are unable to use the wonderful function button of "help others" ... [ Over 2 Years ago ]
.
Provide Helper Function for All Users ... [ 2 Months ago ]

.
I know that this does not help; but, I hope it puts things into perspective.
