Help with Reading Names
I'm looking for records of a family of Georg Staud in Colmberg, Ansbach, Bavaria. I'm having issues telling whether some records I'm looking at are the same family or separate families.
My "core record", so to speak, is this christening record for a son, Johann, on 6 Feb 1639.

I have found these records as well. The main issue is whether or not the last name is the same. In some records it looks more like "Staud", while in others it looks like "Stadelmann". But they also look very similar, and I could also see them being the same person. What do you think?
This marriage of a Georg and Margaretha on 22 Feb 1635:
The christening of a son, Michael, on 30 Jan 1637:
The christening of a daughter, Anna, on 25 Apr 1640:
The christening of a son, Georg, on 20 Nov 1640:
Thanks for any thoughts, suggestions, feedback, etc!

I think they are two different people. Try looking for both couple's marriage record. That would help resolve the question.

The 6 Feb 1639, 30 Jan 1637, and 20 November 1640 records are Georg Staude.
The 22 Feb 1635 and 25 April 1640 records are Georg Stadelmann.
Look at the surname Staude, and you will see a little loop over the "u" - this was a mark used to distinguish an "n" from a "u," which otherwise were formed identically. Now look at Stadelmann, and you will see no such loop - in fact, there is no "u" at all, it goes directly from the "a" to the "d." Also, you can see the "el" after the "d," where there are no equivalent characters after the "d" in Staude. Hope this helps.

@sylviaelchinger1 That is super helpful, thank you — now that you point it out, I can see what you're referring to. Thanks so much for the help!
