Perhaps you can share some more details about the type of research help that you need. Are you looking for a particular family? Or do you want to learn about research in the Cook Islands?
FamilySearch Catalog has some records for the Cook Islands
FamilySearch Research Wiki has some links that might be useful for you:

Please let me know if this helps, or share some more details about what you need to search.

I wasn't sure if it was here or New Zealand.
I am wondering why records aren't categorized into births, deaths and marriages. All records are simply labelled as Cook Islands Public Records. It gets very confusing.
Also, I have access to records from the 1940s through to the 1980s and as most of these people are still living, I was wondering why that is? I really want to have access to earlier records but the records for the living have been indexed and show up as research hints if they have deceased people in the records.
I believe the privacy laws are the same in Cook Islands as the rest of the world which is why I am perplexed at the living people records so freely available.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Peter!
I did a "Keyword search" on the F.S. online catalog (FamilySearch.org/search/catalog) and came up with this link to Cook Islands Civil Registrations--you may've already seen these, but just in case, here they are--
https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2731435
There may be other records which might be of some interest as well. Take a look.
All the best to you dear Friend of FamilySearch--in these interesting times and circumstances.
Phil

Thank you so much Phil.
I emailed the FHL @ SLC and when things reopen, they will look into it for me.
Interesting times indeed.
I am grateful I have acquainted myself with my dead. I can't wait to put faces to the stories and names!
All my Salt Lake friends are in my constant prayers. Stay safe,
Peter.
