Hello @Brian Paul Kaess,
Dates of birth and baptism: Friday. on this date: 21 December, feast day of St. Thomas the Apostle, was born, and on this date: 22 December was baptized. Record no. 38.
Child: Johann Georg.
Parents: Jakob Falkenecker, citizen and "Söldner", wife Catharina, née Banzhafen.
Baptismal sponsors/Godparents: Johann Georg Bandtel, citizen and master joiner here, and Anna Catharina, wife of Wilhelm Friderich Schülin, citizen and farrier here.
Comments: "Söldner" usually translates as mercenary/paid soldier, but Thode in his German English Genealogical Dictionary adds a second defintion: day laborer.
In 1969 the Roman Catholic Church changed the date of St. Thomas the Apostle's feast day to July 3.
The symbol above the dates in the first column represents Friday, and in 1798, December 21 did fall on a Friday.
