Help with transcription/translation of immigration file
I have a 17 page immigration file for my great great grandfather, Benjamin Pfefferle of Staufen (who used his birth name of Metzger in America). He was illegitimate, and his father was Felizian Pfefferle of Untermuenstertal. I eventually wish to have the whole file translated, because it should shed some light on his life there. However, at this time I'm just going to ask for pages 2 and 3, which are his statement of some sort. I appreciate any help!

The handwriting is quite difficult to read. Here is what I can discern:
Geschehen Staufen 4. Februar 1852 und zu Oberamtmann Metzger
Benjamin Pfefferle Schustergeselle dahier ___.

Translation:
Happened Staufen 4 February 1852 and to superintendent Metzger
Benjamin Pfefferle journeyman shoemaker here ___?.
I have drawn the lot 18 ___? 1852 and was also declared fit at the ____? on the 5th of the previous month and assigned to the infantry.
I have neither father nor mother and only a fortune of about 80 f.
For this reason, I believe that I will find a better future in America and am therefore thinking of emigrating to North America.
For this purpose, I am seeking permission to emigrate, with the statement that I am well aware that my local and citizenship rights will be lost with emigration.
I also know the dangers associated with the journey.
On the 22nd of the next month I will reach majority age.

Thanks, that is wonderful and so quick. Yes, he was a shoemaker. Interesting that he said he didn't have a father because he was still living. Do I dare post more pages?

Ok, I'm going to go ahead and post what looks like a statement from his uncles Rudolf and Wilhelm Metzger. The handwriting is much better!

A general remark: it's advisable that you start a new thread for each translation request. This way all volunteers will notice that there is an unanswered request.

Thank you so much! I will start a new thread next time. I'm trying to transcribe some of the shorter pages myself to learn to read this writing, and your transcription is very helpful!
