Trying to Decipher Town Name - thinking somewhere near Nuremberg in Franconia, Germany
Hi - Can anyone help me figure out where / what town this is? (The word circled in red.)
My belief is that the town is in "Franken" aka Middle Franconia, Bavaria. Town is likely somewhere east of Nuremberg, possibly around Hersbruck, based on old family photos with that town name on them. Everything else, here in the U.S. just says Nuremberg or Nurnberg on them - which isn't likely the EXACT town - more likely just the nearest LARGE town.
I can't read a few of these letters, particularly the first one. Is it an "E" or a "G"? The "G" in German Evangelical isn't the same, so guessing that's not it? What about the second and third letters?
Wondering if anyone more familiar with German might recognize the letters or the town name better than I can? Thanks for anything - even guesses! I am out of tries. lol

Remember that this document is in English, so they probably just write what they heard the person say. This makes it hard to find the town name because it is said phonetically. Meyersgaz.org is a great way to look for towns as you can use up to 3 wild cards (*) in your searches. Meyersgaz also has a great map feature and the eccesiatical tab shows towns within a 20 mile radius. I further narrowed my search by only looking in the German state of Bayern (Bavaria).
Nürnberg is in Mittelfranken (Middle Franken). I'm wondering if the last part of the place name is bach. Go to the map tab and look around. Also, the ecclesiastical tab shows a list of towns within a 20 mile radius.
I typed ctrl f and typed in henb because those are four of the letters that are fairly clear and all town names with those letters are highlighted. There is Röthenbach, Büchenbach, Eschenbach.
Could that first letter be an E? I also went to Hersbruck in meyersgaz and there were those three towns again. If I had to guess, I would bet that is Eschenbach, which is only 3 miles from Hersbruck, 20 miles from Nürnberg.
It looks like this person is Evangelical and Eschenbach has an evangelical parish.

Thank you, including and especially for the meyersgaz tips. I haven’t used it enough to know, especially the three wildcards.
I appreciate the time you took to help me!
