Alswede baptism questions
Can't tell you how much I'm learning about these German records and I really appreciate all of your insights and help!
In baptismal record #54, the date is given as "Eodem #". I look above and see the last date given is "Dom 12 p Trin. den 23rd Aug". So can I assume that the #54 baptism was on the same date?
Second question is about the name of the father, "joh Wilhelm Scheper jun.". I have seen the "jun." after some father's entries. What would this mean? Is it the same as American abbreviation for "junior", meaning that there was another man of the same name, but older living at that time?
Thanks so much!
Jenny

Hello @Jenealogy,
(1) You didn't attach an image. The Latin word "eodem" translates as: on the same date. Without the image, I am unable to confirm the date.
(2) Regarding "jun." generaly in records: Yes it indicates, as you said, "that there was another man of the same name, but older living at that time" and in the same location/parish/village. BUT it doesn't necessarily mean that the two men were father and son.

Sorry - here is the image. And thank you about the "jun."

Hello @Jenealogy,
Thanks for posting the image. Yes, I agree with you that the child in record no. 54 on the left-hand page was baptized on the 12th Sunday after Trinity in 1722, which was 23 August 1722.
