Is Hengen a male or female name in old Germany?
I've found a family member christened in 1594 but can't tell if the child is male or female. It's supposed to be Hengen, child of Arnold and Grete Bode born in 1594 in Banfe, Wittgenstein, Germany. Image 48, film 591447, bottom right of image. Could some one translate for me? Thank you, Robin Fuellenbach

"Hengen" is an very unusual or even non-existing name. Can you post an image of the record?
