Welschafen, Dresden, Saxony = Welschhufe?
One of our German lines I believe was done by one of my uncles living in Germany decades ago- perhaps even before WWII. I'm trying to extend back and clarify these records, but there are many events and places that are incomplete and confusing. One specific record I'm interested in says a Karl Gottlieb ROSENKRANZ (b. 18 Sep 1808 in Welschafen, Dresden, Saxony; died 14 Jan 1857 in Bad Schandau) married Johanna Sophie JAKOB (b. Jul 1808 in ?) on 3 Feb 1834 in Schoenfeld, (?). Karl's parents were Joh. C. ROSENKRANZ (b.?) and Joh. Sophie KUHNERTIN (b. ?). First, there was not any documentation made over the years.
I've looked all around on the internet for Welschafen in the area of Dresden but could find nothing. I found a village "Welschhufe" near Bannewitz, just west of Dresden. There is also a Welschhufe strausse in Dresden-Mockritz, but it is a very small street. Are there any vital records existing of this town? Were most records destroyed with Dresden in WWII? I found some court records on Familysearch catalogue, but would that have any genealogy information? One film is in the Granite vaults. Any suggestions would be welcome... Thanks!

@Jared Lee Sommer I think you are right about the place name of "Welschhufe". This page from an historical directory of Saxon shows the history of the name coming from "Wölcsch Hufen" and "Welch Huffen", which could easily be misspelled as Welschafen.
Are you looking for Evangelical records? This page also tells that the parish for Welschhufe from 1837 to 1930 was Possendorf, before 1830 Leubnitz, and after 1930 Bannewitz. That is where you would find christening, marriage, and burial records. None of these are found in the FamilySearch catalog, nor could I find them on Archion. I would first try to find out if the records you are looking for even exist.
Also, Meyers Gazeteer shows at least four Schoenfeld villages or towns in Dresden. Sorry there don't seem to be easy answers for you.
