Help please translating one word in a 1700 death record
The record of interest is dated 13 March for Marg. Johanningsmann.
I am able to translate this record with the exception of one word that precedes the surname "Kromschröder. That word appears to be "sen".
My translation: On 13 March Margarethe Johanningsmann died; wife of "sen" Kromschröder; buried 14 March; age 68 years.
The word "sen" also appears in the previous record. Could it be a Latin abbreviation of the word "senior?"
Thank you.

Hello @Joy Curtin,
Sen: is probably an abbreviation for "Senior" = elder.
So your translation would read: On 13 March Margarethe Johanningsmann died; wife of the elder Kromschröder; buried 14 March; age 68 years.

Thank you Robert for your speedy reply. Margarethe's husband was indeed an elderly person - age 83 at the time of her death.
