Definition of column in 1850 Tauf register from Westpreußen?
The attached screen capture is of an 1850 Tauf Register whose front cover is titled "Kirchengemeinde Pempersin (Sittnow)". I am uncertain of the definition or meaning of the column titled "Namen des Orts, woher." Does this column refer to the place of birth or the place of baptism? The only entries in this column throughout the entire register are either Pempersin or Sittnow, no other villages.

Hello @Robt_Nielsen,
The column heading "Namen des Orts, woher" translates as: Name of the place where from or Name of the place whence.
I would interpret this as where the parents lived and where the child was born.

Thanks.
That's what I was thinking too, partly because Meyers Gazetteer indicates that while Pempersin had a church, the parish was Vandsburg where I presume baptisms would have been conducted. I have found other records at FHL from Vandsburg that also contain this particular baptism.
