I just want to stress the importance up reading through, transcribing and uploading hard copy memories into FamilySearch. First, I think these historical notes of sorts, can likely prove useful in sorting out confusion on the worldwide family tree. But additionally, it really brings these family members of the past into a light almost lifelike.
I was reading in a life sketch of my 8th great grandfather, Philip Marsteller, that the letters between him and George Washington around the times surrounding the Revolutionary war were located in the Library of Congress. Realizing that they were likely available to view digitally, I hurried over to www.loc.gov and was able to easily search and obtain those images. What a find!

What a great treasure! And great point of going to look on Library of Congress website, not just the transcription notes. I love Library of Congress website. I have had success & help from their maps but haven't yet been looking at record transcriptions like this. But I will now

It IS awesome! I totally wouldn't have thought to go there, if there wasn't mention of it made in a family history book that was kept at my parents house that I've been going through. So grateful the person who compiled that information before all of this modern technology became available made note of where we could find those letters. I'm so thankful for the technology of our day, where so much is available at the click of a mouse.
