Converting Latin place names into modern place names
I have a Latin place name (Boikirchen Westriatus or Westriacus). How can I figure out the German name (and its location)?

Hello Gina,
Please see the second paragraph in this link which might give you some clues about Boikirchensis Westriarcus: https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/polhemus/163/
P.S. The link you provided in your original post doesn't work, at least for me.

@Robert Seal_1 Thanks for the link, that was actually where I initially got the place name from. After looking at the original document I changed the spelling a little.
Does this link work?

Hello Gina,
Yes, the second link works. I read the name in Latin as: Boikirchen Westriacus; or possibly: Boi Kirchen Westriacus.
Googling the word "Westriacus" by itself online, from the hits I got , I would interpet Westriacus as the Westrich area of southwestern German and northeastern France.
Here is a link about Westrich from the German Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westrich
I also found this link online which translates the German "Westrich" as "Westriacus" in Latin: https://www.civ-online.org/de/service/datenbank/glossar/#/
Scroll down to the bottom of the list for the entry for "Westrich".
