Spelling variatons
I am researching my ancestors using the church records from Matricula online. I understand that there are different spellings for the names. I have ancestors with the last name Rapin. It is also spelled Rapien occasionally which makes sense from what I've read. I recently came across the spelling Rapyn from records in1749. The birth names matches my ancestor and the time frame is right. Would this by a possible variation of Rapin? Thanks so much for any thoughts.
