Carl Huth Translation Request
Good day
I believe the images are pages of my second great grandfather birth, baptism, and death. I would be grateful for help translating them. Carl Friedrich HUTH, 1833–1877 BIRTH 11 JUN 1833 in Langenau, Freystadt, West, Prussia DEATH 25 JUN 1877 Brandenburg, Germany. I would like to confirm this is from a likely Lutheran church in Landgenau and if it true he was born and baptized in Langenau? Is it possible to confirm where he is buried. I plan to visit next year and so hope I have found the town of his birth resting place.

Hello @JulieWolf6,
You should go back and look at your original request. Many of the attachments can't be opened (at least I am unable to open them).
I can open the two URL attachments regarding the birth and baptism but the first is not complete and the second link connects to the wrong image.
This birth/baptismal record for Carl Hutt is recorded on two pages when the book is opened flat: a page on the left side and a page on the right side.
Here is the link to the left side of the record (it's the second record from the top of the page): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C398-J9PD-F?i=403&cc=3015626 (Note that this is image 404 of 665 images.)
Here is the link to the right side of the record (it's the second record from the top of the page which begins with the name "Carl"): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C398-J9PD-N?i=404&cc=3015626 (Note that this is image 405 of 665 images.)
Here is a translation of both pages:
Left page (image 404):
Name of place where the parents reside: Langenau, Heinriettenhof [= Henriettenhof].
Number [of birth]: 44.
Son: 24. [24th male born in this place during this year.]
Legitimate: 24. [24th legitimate male born in this place during this year.]
Right page (image 405):
Heading at top of page: Register of births and baptisms in the year 1833.
Main record: Carl, born on the 11th of June 1833 at 9:00 pm; baptized on the 16th of the same month. Father: Simon Hutt, farm worker. Mother: Elisabeth Strehlau. Witnesses: (1) Christine S__rezewcki?, shepherd's wife. (2) Christine Zimmermann, farm worker's wife. (3) Martin Legal, farm worker; all from here.
Comments: This record comes from the Evangelische Kirche Langenau, District Rosenberg, West Prussia. Henriettenhof is a small village outside of Langenau where the child's parents lived. It's likely the child was born at home in Henriettenhof and was baptized in the Protestant parish church in Langenau.
Here is the link for Henriettenhof from Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10771026
In the gray bar at the top of the entry click on "Map" and you will see Langenau in the center of a red circle on the map. From Langenau move north-northeast about two inches on the map and you will find Henriettenhof. The parish church for the people who lived in Henriettenhof was located in Langenau.

Hello Robert Seal,
I am so grateful for your time and detailed support. I am still learning the file options and my have tried to send a pdf file. That does not seem to be a format this system allows.
Your response has placed me on the right path for the birth and baptism. (I was way off track.) I am attaching the death record details. I am pretty confident this is the same Carl, and wonder about the record and location of his death, line 12. Could you please translate? I wonder if he died as the result of military actions, and would very much like to understand the location of his death/burial.
I think Küstrin-Kietz is a small village located in the German state of Brandenburg, at the Oder river and the border with Poland. Is this what you think as well based on the record?
Thanks again for moving me forward.

Hello @JulieWolf6,
Your images still haven't posted but here is the link in FamilySearch to the death record to which I think you are referring: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPVR-WY9Q
I am unable to view the original record in FamilySearch but I did find the record on Ancestry and provide the link here: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/61229/images/0071887-00539?treeid=&personid=&hintid=&queryId=f04a4c257cddb13484e6dbcba98def36&usePUB=true&_phsrc=fce1753&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=2543877
It is record no. 12. Here is a translation with the column headings in bold:
Number: 12.
Death date: 25 June 1877, 6:30 pm.
Name, status, and faith of the deceased: Huth, Carl Friedrich Wilhelm, mounted gendarme [paramilitary policeman] in the 3rd Gendarmerie Brigade in Cüstrin. Evangelical [faith/religion].
Illness: pneumonia.
Age: 40 years, 11 months, 10 days.
Day and place of burial: on the 28th of June 1877 at the garrison cemetery in Cüstrin.
Gender: Male: 11. [11th male to die in this place this year.]
Remarks: born on the 15th of July 1836 at Rittgraten [Rittgarten] near Brenzlau [Prenzlau], leaves behind the wife born Wilhelmine Schatz and a daughter in Cüstrin.
Comments: Here is the link for Cüstrin from Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10306027
Here is the link for Cüstrin-Kietz from Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10306028
Here is the link for Rittgarten from Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20605002
Cüstrin-Kietz is the same place you are referring to when you asked about "Küstrin-Kietz" on the Oder River.
I am not convinced that this is the same person as the Carl Hutt/Huth who was born on 11 June 1833 in Langenau/Henreittenhof because the full names, the birth dates, and the birth places don't match. But you will need to determine this yourself based on your own research.

The marriage record that matches the Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Huth death record is also on ancestry and shows that he is not the same person as the 11 Jun 1833 birth record. Different parents.

Thank you both so very much. I am very grateful. My work continues, I agree this is not the correct Carl Huth. I have more work to do.

You're welcome, Julie.

Julie,
Are you looking for the Carl Huth (GNT5-7N6) who had a son William (Friedrich Wilhelm) who married Wilhelmine Motz in Appleton, Outagamie, Wisconsin? That Carl Huth lived in Bischofswerder, Rosenberg and had a number of children with Anna Maria Semeren (Semereu?). Children include Friedrich Wilhelm Huth, Lina Otillie Huth and Augustine Huth.
His wife Anna died in 1922 in Appleton and her obituary stated that her husband Carl Huth died 45 years earlier. Since Lina Otillie was born in 1876 in Bischofswerder, Rosenberg then his death record is likely there.
I looked at a death register for Bischofswerder and found a Carl Huth listed as dying 5 Juni, 1880. (Far right column, 1st entry under 1880). Disregard the indexing for the page, it is apparently an error because it has nothing to do with the death registry.
That is only a registry so to get the actual death record you will need to look at Film 208021 DGS# 007946077; Tote 1852-1887. The film is in this list:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/203450?availability=Family%20History%20Library
That film is locked online but should be viewable at a Family History Center. Or you could request a lookup here:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/family-history-library/record-lookup-service
Bischofswerder is fairly close to Langenau so the 1833 birth record could possibly be the correct one. Hopefully his death record will give additional information.

Further update:
In the same Bischofswerder death registry containing Carl Huth's death I also noticed there is an Anna Elisabeth Huth, maiden name Strehlau who died 28 June 1866. This could very easily be Carl's mother if the 1833 birth record is for Carl since both Elisabeth's have the same maiden name. This death record will be on the same film as Carl's so you can request it also of go to a FHC and look it up. The death registry record is here, 9th entry under 1866 in far right column.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSZY-W2Y9?i=260&cc=4111605&cat=203450
EDIT:
I found the burial record corresponding to the death registry above for Anna Elisabeth Huth, nee Strehlau and she is the widow of Simon Huth! She resided in a little village called Luisenthal that is in the Bischofswerder parish. That is the same village that Carl Huth lives in in all his childrens birth/baptism records. I'm pretty confident now that the 1833 birth record you have for Carl Huth matches up with this Carl Huth who is the parent of Augustine, William and Otillie who all end up in Appleton Wisconsin.
Second entry (#51) on Images 54 and 55:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C398-JS44-5?i=53&cc=3015626
She was 65 years, 5 months old when she died at 2 AM 28 June 1866, buried 1 July in the cemetery at Stangenwalde. She has two surviving adult children 1) Carl and 2) Justine (married with last name Pawlowski now)
Simon Huth (Hut) died Bischofswerder parish 20 Dec 1853 in per registry
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSZY-W2TZ?i=259&cc=4111605&cat=203450
His burial record was split during filming. The left side of the page is on Image 223, the right side on Image 48. Entry 89 (second entry)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSCG-63T9?i=222&cc=4111605&cat=203450
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSCG-6QSH?i=47&cc=4111605&cat=203450
He died 20 Dec 1853 at 8 am, was a resident of Stangenwalde, buried 23 Dec 1853 at Stangenwalde cemetery, age 55 or 53 (I can't decide whether the last digit is a 5 or a 3). He is survived by his widow Elisabeth Strehlau and 3 children; Karl Hut age 20, Wilhelmine Hut age 23 and Justine Hut age 19.
Note: it's pretty clear that this Simon Hut and Anna Elisabeth Strehlau had a son Carl in 1833. So I'm pretty confident that your 1833 birth record is for this Carl. Langenau is about 10 miles from Bischofswerder. The Simon Hut/Elisabeth Strehlau couple in Langenau had children Wilhelmine, Karl and Justine all of the same ages as this Simon Hut/Elisabeth Strehlau who are now in Bischofswerder. I've merged the two Carl Huth's in familysearch under ID K8XJ-5KQ.
