Help please with transcribing this birth/baptism record
This record is from Archion.de. I am interested in Alvina Maria who is the first name on the left side of the page. I am learning the German script but this one is difficult for me to transcribe so I really appreciate any help. This is a relative of mine and she may not have the father I thought she did. Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Penny,
this image is really poor quality, making it difficult to transcribe for you. Can you upload a cleaner image?
Thanks!

Hope this is better quality. Archion downloads everything in PDF which apparently I can not upload so I converted it into Tiff or Jpeg but that would not upload either so I went with png. Thank you for letting me know.

As I don't know what the original resolution is, it is somewaht difficult to comment. Your "zoom" image is better - but still IMHO not sufficient to read the text with confidence.
What is the size (in pixels) of your computer monitor? Your "zoom" image (the image itself) is about 700 by 470 pixels - modern computer monitors are usually much larger. Have you tried to
1) switch to full screen view and then
2) zoom to get the entry full screen - then do a print screen?

I have a newer iMac. I download the images direct from Archion.de so I don't know why the resolution is poor. I will try your advise and see how that works. Thank you for your help.
This should be 2720 x 1932 pixels. Hope this works.

That's better - but still a difficult handwriting. My first attempt:
Alwina Marina Katharina, uneheliche Tochter der …. Maria Margarethe Kährs, ehel[iche] Tochter des Friedrich Johann Kährs in Grewen(?) und der Dorothea Magdalena geb[orene] Fleischer(?), geb[oren] 2 / 4 1855.
… …. des in Grewen(?) geborenen Kindes hat(?) "Er"(?) angegeben(?) Peter Mariland(?) in …., und … 10 Monate nach der Geburt ….
Gev[atteren]: Katharina … in Grewen(?) / Maria Wagner derselbst(?) / Jakob Wolter …
Summary: Alwina Marina Katharina is the illegitimate daughter of Maria Margarethe Kährs; the mother is the legitimate daughter of Friedrich Johann Kährs and Dorothea Magdalena Fleischer(?), and was born 02 Apr 1855.
In the second para a Peter Mariland(?) is mentioned - but I cannot read the text with confidence - whether he is claimed to be the father - or has admitted it - or has some other connection to the child.
Re resolution of the downloaded pdf: have a look at it magnified (a few 100 %) and see what happens. It could be that the resolution in the pdf was original - but got lost when you converted to png, depending on how you converted it. I'll send you a direct note with my mail address: if you want me to have a look at it you could send me the pdf by mail.

Thanks for sending me the pdf - I have converted it to jpg (using https://tools.pdf24.org/en/): I have blown it up a bit too much (on purpose) so pixels can be seen. But the example does show that the downloaded pdf can be "zoomed" to get nearer to the original resolution.
I have partially revised my transcription: "Als Vater des in Grewen(?) geborenen Kindes hat(?) der angegebne(?) Peter Moriland(?) in …., und … 10 Monate nach(?) der Geburt …."
Does that mean that Peter Mariland(?) had first been mentioned as the child's father - but 10 months later someone else was named as father?

I understand that the record is from Lunden, Dithmarschen (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20114008). Looking at the map in Meyers the birthplace of the child is probably Groven (here written Growen): https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10665029.
I read the beginning of the second paragraph as: Als Vater des in Growen geborenen Kindes __ __ __ Peter Mailand in Bargen, und war 10 Monate vor der Geburt bei J. Ja__? in Karolinenkoog.
Translation: As father of the child born in Growen __ __ __ Peter Mailand from Bargen, and has been in Karolinenkoog with J. Ja___? 10 months before the delivery.
Bergen (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10109022) and Karolinenkoog (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10934105) are villages in the vicinity of Groven.

Thank you both very much. Very helpful and interesting. Haven't seen an entry quite like that in the church records before. It certainly helps to know the geographic areas to investigate further.
Still not sure how to determine who Alwina's father may be. Maria later married a Nikolaus Rohdenburg (May 1880) but not until she had two more illegitimate children where no father is named. After marrying, they moved to the United States and had many more children. Difficult indeed to figure out your family tree. Was Rohdenburg the father of all of the children? I may have to see if the DNA/Genetics Group might be able to help in this case.
And thank you also for the correct way to convert a PDF to jpg.
Very much appreciate you both helping.
