Prussia or Germany? Two different names for the same place.
With so many wars and changes in borders, I am a bit confused on the appropriate name use.
In Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1500-197
Baptism Place: Boxberg, Mosbach, Baden, Deutschland
Baptism Place (Original: )Sinsheim, Kirchenbuch, , Baden, Preußen
In German Lutheran Collection
Baptism Place: Sinsheim, Baden, Deutschland
Baptism Place (Original): Dünsheim, Dünsheim, , Baden, Preußen
The film number is 102078038.
I believe I have found the Place in Meyers Gazetter as such Sinsheim Elsenz, Sinsheim Elsenz, Heidelberg, Baden.
I believe Boxberg, Mosbach, Baden is were the church records archived. Like in the US when town records are sent to the county or state. Is that correct?
This record was in 1740.
I am not sure if Sinsheim or Dünsheim is more accurate and why there is a difference.
Also is Preußen or Germany appropriate? It honestly seems just Baden is the most accurate?
Also, on a side note did Prussia really come down that far? On the wiki and other research I am doing, it doesn't seem to go as far down as Baden. I am not see this correctly?
Thank you for your insight and knowledge.

Place names in Germany can be confusing. To make it even more difficult, the computer program that FamilySearch uses to convert the "Original" event place to a "standard" event place often makes clumsy errors- many such errors have been reported in this forum previously.
In this case, it is clear that the records are from Sinsheim, a village south-east of Heidelberg.
Boxberg is about 20km away. I'm not sure what the connection is to Boxberg, as according to the catalog the records are/were stored at Karlsruhe. I'm inclined so think it is a mistake.
I cannot find any evidence that Dünsheim is a real place. Neither Mayer's Gazette or Google Maps has heard of it.
In 1740 Baden was an independent state within the Holy Roman Empire. It later became one of the states within the German Empire between 1871 and 1918 and never became part of Prussia.
